I just had a new (bigger) hard drive installed in my laptop today. My techie saved a complete copy of my old drive on the new one, so I'm pretty sure I haven't lost anything. I have subscriptions to Object Desktop 2008, Cursor FX, Master Skins, Wincustomize, etc.

Can anybody tell me what the best way to get everything installed again? A quick answer would really be appreciated, because I'm looking at XP at it's barest, and it is scary!

Download Impulse and sign in with your account and passwork and it should find all your stuff.  Here's the Impulse link,  http://www.impulsedriven.com/

Install Impulse.  Register with the email associated with stardock.

it will find all your apps and you can install from the My Desktop tab

Help again please?!?!?

I downloaded Impulse, did the installation, and then just before I get to click on 'Finish' - I get a message saying 'The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application'.

I've tried installing 6 times so far and still get the same message, can't get any further - any ideas?

Hmmm . . thats a new one.

Try the other installer

Same thing happened.

Could it be the new installations - new hard drive and more ram. They  told me that they put the new hard drive in, installed xp and updates, then copied over my documents/outlook/etc, then copied over the entire old c drive into a folder on the new drive.

Or, could a firewall or security program be blocking the installation?

It's like a new computer, I'm having to start from scratch to customize it the way I like - and I haven't even started skinning.

This is what my first guess would be.

Also, make sure you have .net 2.5  (Install 2.0, then reboot and let windows update find the patch)

Thanks Zubaz, I looked through some other Forum articles and found mention of the .net 2 being a problem for some. I guess my techie just did the express updates and not the custom. I've just finished downloading them all, clicked on Impulse, and I'm in!!!

Thanks for your help.

I'm pretty much setup again, just have to move around skins so that they are easier to locate.

I just have one more question ---I used to use Logon Studio (for xp), and it doesn't seem to work now. When I try to open the program I get this message...

Run-Time error '339'. Component 'COMDLG32.0CX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

My WC subscription and Object Desktop subscriptions are still in effect.

That is a common error we have seen. It is due to some updates through Microsoft to XP. Since the XP version of Login Studio has not been updated in years it often times will not run on fully updated versions of XP. I have seen some tricks in the forums that users have suggested but officially the XP version is not supported so I can't provide them. Sorry for that...

That does not mean someone else can't chime in here with some suggestions you could try at your own risk.....
